The
Capay Augmented Patrol Program (CAP) has been a successful partnership
between the Rumsey Indian Rancheria Tribal Leaders and the Yolo County
Sheriff’s Department for over nine years. Statistics and the continued
positive acceptance of Capay Valley residents demonstrate the overall
success of the CAP Program, which remains unique within the state of
California.
We have accomplished much through teamwork and a spirited
level of cooperation unprecedented in this county's history.
Since
it's inception, The Rumsey Indian Rancheria Tribal Leaders have
supported the CAP Program through 100% donated funds.
With prior donations, the Department has been able to expand the
CAP Program when growth of the casino facilities created a significant
increase in calls for service.
Patrol has now been increased to include three full-time deputies and a
fully-equipped patrol vehicle, allowing for CAP services 24 hours a day,
five days a week. Expansion of the CAP Program allowed the Sheriff’s
Department to continue to provide the residents of the Capay Valley with
the
high
level of customer service they, and the residents of Yolo County, have
come to expect.
The Department looks
forward to many more years of this partnership. |
