  • The Court Services Section is comprised of Court Security and Transportation units that operate within the Field Operations Division of the Sheriff’s Department. One sergeant supervises both units, which share overlapping duties.  The Court Security section is responsible for providing bailiffs and security personnel for 12 courtrooms in the Unified Superior Court system of Yolo County.


     

  • This section is staffed with a sergeant and 16 deputy sheriffs, which are funded by the courts. Providing security for the Court, Judges, Courthouse staff and the public constitutes the primary role of the Court Security Section.  Over 269,500 people enter the main courthouse annually.  Additionally, three satellite courts are operational: Traffic Court, Family Court, and Department Nine Superior Court.
