WHAT TO BRING TO
YOUR LIVESCAN APPOINTMENT:

A current and valid driver’s license (any
state) or California Identification Card. If the applicant is under
the age of 18 and does not have either form of identification, he/she
must provide a birth certificate and a secondary form of photo ID,
such as a School-issued ID or bus pass.

A “Request for
Livescan Service” form (BCII 8016), provided by the requesting agency.
You can obtain a "Request for Live Scan Service" form by contacting
the Department of Justice at (916) 322-2209, or online at http://www.caag.state.ca.us/fingerprints. We DO NOT provide Livescan service
forms. The applicant must provide an original triplicate form or an
original form and two copies.

Cash, personal
check, or money order to pay fees associated with Livescan service.
FEES FOR
LIVESCAN FINGERPRINTING AND BACKGROUND CHECKS:
Fingerprinting Fees (Rolling Fees):
$11.00
The Yolo County Sheriff's
Department Livescan site accepts personal checks, money orders and cash
for payment of fees. A $25.00 fee, which will be payable by money order
or cashier's check only, will be charged on all returned checks.
Background check fees:
There are other fees associated with the background check through the
Department of Justice (Child Abuse Index, Department of Social Services, FBI,
etc.). For further information, please contact the California Department
of Justice Livescan website.
These fees
are either collected by the Livescan operator or billed to the
applicant's agency. For the agency to be billed, they must have an AORI
number with the Department of Justice and a billing number assigned. To
obtain an AORI number from the California Department of Justice, contact
Judy Kistner at (916) 227-3458. If no Deptartment of Justice account
exists, the Livescan operator WILL collect the fees.
WHAT
WILL HAPPEN AT YOUR LIVESCAN APPOINTMENT:
The Livescan operator will enter your information from the submission form and
capture the fingerprint images. The captured information is immediately
transmitted to the Department of Justice over a data line.
The Livescan technicians do not process the applications. The fingerprints are
forwarded to the Department of Justice. If the applicant has not heard back
from their agency within 30 days, they should have their agency file an
inquiry with the Dept. of Justice. The applicant should not contact the
Livescan station. They do not have access to any records. Only the
applicant's employer may contact DOJ.
If you are returning
to be re-printed due to a DOJ or FBI rejection, you must bring a brand
new form and a copy of the rejection notice with you. If you do not have
a copy of the rejection notice with you, you will be re-charged the
applicable fees. With the copy of the rejection notice, no additional
fees will be charged.
