The
Yolo County Sheriff's Department, Animal Services Division, is pleased to
announce the opening of it's newest facility, the T.S. and K.D. Glide
Annex.
This
building was designed to provide sufficient accommodation and medical
facilities for housed felines and other small animals, as well as office
space, locker rooms, shower and presentation/meeting areas for Animal
Services officers who in the past did not have adequate space for such
activities. While the building
and it’s equipment will be used mainly by members of Animal Services, an
adoption area will be open to the public. The front adoption area is
equipped with new cages and a play area for adoptable cats. It
is our hope that by providing a pleasant and friendly viewing experience,
the public will be more willing to visit the shelter and adopt an animal.
This
endeavor would not have been successful without generous donations from the
Glide Foundation, a California charitable trust providing benefits for
organizations that are committed to improving animal welfare, wildlife and
land conservation, and other similar civic endeavors. The
building itself was dedicated as the T.S. and K.D. Glide Annex on
March 19, 2004.
