Jail Visiting Hours

Visitation Rules

 

Visiting days and times are determined by the housing unit and classification of the inmate.  Please note visiting days and times are subject to change as inmates are re-housed as necessary.  All visitors are subject to search while on the premises. All visitors must be 18 years or older and be able to clear a metal detector with what they are wearing.  If you are unable to clear the metal detector, you will not be able to visit. Any delays resulting from failure to do so will result in the visit being reassigned to the next half hour.

All visitors shall be dressed appropriately when they visit.  Attire which is similar in appearance to inmate attire or revealing shall not be permitted.  All visitors must meet required dress code, which includes, but not limited to: no sleeveless garments, tube tops, tank tops, spandex pants or shorts, swim suits, short shorts or mini skirts. No hats or scarves. No clothing with obscene, offensive or gang related designs or writing. Shoes must be worn at all times. 

No metal objects, excessive jewelry, cell phones, pagers, lighters, matches, gum, cigarettes, candy, medication, pens/pencils, etc. will be allowed.  No brief cases, purses or wallets.  Only one key that will get you into your vehicle will be allowed back with you during the visit.  No key rings or car alarm remotes will be allowed.  The Department will not be responsible for any lost, stolen, or misplaced property.  Articles are to be secured in your vehicles if necessary. No property is to be left on the counters or held by personnel, NO EXCEPTIONS.

No food or drinks are allowed in either the Monroe or Leinberger facilities.

Visiting Rules Specific ONLY To The Monroe Detention Center:

Inmates are allowed two thirty minute visits per week. The visiting week begins on Monday. All visitors must be present in the Monroe Detention Center lobby thirty minutes prior to the half hour they want to visit.   Only one visitor at a time.  Visits shall begin on the half-hour, no exceptions.  Inmates may have both visits on the same day.  Visitors may visit as many inmates as they like, time providing.  

All visitors must provide a valid driver’s license or DMV issued identification card, or a valid passport or visa, or a valid U.S. military identification, or a valid registered alien card.  No one under the age of 18 years is allowed to visit during regular visiting hours.  All children brought onto the premises must be accompanied by an adult, at least 18 years old, at all times, including the parking lot.  DO NOT LEAVE CHILDREN (UNDER 18) UNATTENDED IN THE LOBBY OR YOUR VEHICLE!

During visits inmates shall not receive anything from visitors without permission from the Correctional Sergeant.  Inmates shall not take anything to the visiting area without permission from the Correctional Sergeant.  Inmates shall leave the visiting area immediately when directed by an Officer.

Visiting Rules Specific ONLY To The Leinberger Detention Center: 

Inmates are allowed three visitors per day.  A visitor is defined as any person of any age.  Children are allowed, but must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian and must be an immediate family member of the inmate.  Visits are for thirty minutes.   Visiting registration is a first come first serve basis.

All visitors must provide a valid driver’s license or DMV issued identification card, or a valid passport or visa, or a valid U.S. military identification, or a valid registered alien card.  All children brought onto the premises must be accompanied by an adult, at least 18 years old, at all times, including the parking lot.  DO NOT LEAVE CHILDREN (UNDER 18) UNATTENDED IN THE LOBBY OR YOUR VEHICLE!  

No diaper bags, bottles, carry-alls, strollers, or blankets are allowed back during the visit.  Only a pacifier will be allowed.  Visitors are subject to a search while on the premises.  Visitors found with contraband are subject to arrest.  Once visitors leave the visiting room, the visit shall be considered terminated.

Visitors may greet the inmates with a handshake. No further physical contact is allowed. If there is further contact your visit shall be terminated. All visitors and inmates shall keep both feet on the ground at all times.   Inmates may not take anything from the housing unit to visiting and will not receive anything from visiting to the house unit.

Family visiting:

The purpose of family visiting is to allow the children, younger siblings and grandchildren under the age of 18 years to visit with their incarcerated parent/guardian or grandparent.  Each housing unit and classification is assigned one specific Monday of the month for family visiting.  It is the inmate’s responsibility to sign up for family visiting.  Once it has been approved, it is the inmate’s responsibility to advise the family of the date and time of the visit.  Only two children, accompanied by an adult, are allowed back at a time for a thirty-minute visit.  Each child is allowed only one thirty minute visit. If there are more than two children signed up to visit, then there must be another adult accompanying children waiting in the lobby or parking lot. Unaccompanied or uncontrolled children will result in termination of the visit.  DO NOT LEAVE CHILDREN (UNDER 18) UNATTENDED IN THE LOBBY OR YOUR VEHICLE! Only eligible children and adults that are signed up by the inmate will be allowed to visit. The same dress code, id requirements, and security clearance procedures apply to family visiting as with regular visiting.  All visitors must be in the lobby of the Monroe Detention Center thirty minutes prior to the half hour they are scheduled to visit. 

Professional  or clergy visiting:

All professional visitors must provide appropriate, valid agency identification or professional license or certification, as well as a valid driver’s license or DMV issued identification card.  No brief cases, portfolios, wallets, purses, cell phones, pagers, lighters, matches, gum, cigarettes, candy, medication, etc., are allowed back during the visit.  If a professional visitor cannot clear the metal detector, then they will be wanded prior to visiting.  No key rings or car alarm remotes will be allowed.  Property cannot be left on the counters or with staff.  Only one writing instrument and relevant paperwork are allowed.  All materials are subject to search prior to the visit.  Only the attorney of record or designated representatives of the attorney of record that have been pre-approved by the Facility Manager and/or Jail Commander may have contact visits.  Any other professional or clergy visit will be through the glass.  Professional visiting hours are 7am to 11pm, except during inmate movement for transportation to and from court and meal times.  Meal times are 11am to 12pm for lunch and 4pm to 5pm for dinner.  

PROPERTY AND MONEY

If an inmate is to have money sent to him/her by mail, it must be a Postal money order.  Government checks will be honored. Cash will not be accepted by mail, but may be delivered in person to the front desk.  Personal checks shall not be accepted.
