I need to pick up property for an inmate that was sentenced to the California Department of Corrections. How do I do this?

I am required to register with local law enforcement. How do I do this?

All narcotics, arson, and sex offenders are required to register with their local law enforcement agencies. All first time registrants, including those that are moving into Yolo County, must appear in person at the Monroe Detention Center, located at 2420 East Gibson Road, Woodland, Ca to register.  Registration hours are from 7am to 11pm, 7 days a week. An appointment is not necessary, however, be prepared to wait for this service.

What can I send to an inmate?

Incoming mail is inspected and forwarded to the inmates on a daily basis.  When incoming mail is determined to be unacceptable, or the inmate is no longer in custody, it will be returned to the U.S. Post Office to be returned to the sender.  If unacceptable mail cannot be returned to the sender, the U.S. Postal Service will place it in their Dead Letter File. All incoming mail must include the sender’s correct legal first and last name and return physical address written on the front of the envelope.  Note: first name initials, nicknames and/or monikers are not acceptable and shall result in the mail being returned to the sender. Newspapers, magazines periodicals and soft-bound books which are sent directly from the publisher, book club or Amazon.com are accepted.  Material sent from retail bookstores or private individuals will not be accepted. 

Unacceptable incoming mail includes, but not limited to: weapons, drugs and controlled substances, tobacco, oversized mail or cards, packages or envelopes containing excessive property, hand out material, copies from books or magazines articles, hard back books, Polaroid photographs or any photographs which is laminated or coated or has been laminated or coated, obscene material, nudity, sex, gang related, racially discriminatory, or promotes violence or illegal activity, stamps, stickers or items which are “gummed” or has adhesive on it, inkpad stamps or transfer, postage stamps, pre-stamped envelopes, blank envelopes, writing instruments, personal checks and currency.  Sealed envelopes containing additional correspondence will also not be accepted. 

For inmates housed in both the Monroe Detention Center and the Leinberger Center, address the envelope to the inmate’s full name with the address of 2420 E. Gibson Rd. Woodland, Ca. 95776.

How do I leave money for an inmate's commissary orders? 

Commissary is ordered Sunday night and is delivered on Tuesday.  You may deposit money at the Monroe Detention Center lobby from 7am to 5pm and 6:15pm to 11pm seven days a week.  Only cash for the exact amount is accepted over the counter.  You may also mail U.S. Postal money orders only, made payable to the inmate, to 2420 E. Gibson Rd. Woodland, Ca.  95776. We do not accept any other type of money order, check or credit card.  You may also order inmate care packages at: www.MyCarePack.com

How do I remove a block on my phone to receive collect calls from an in-custody inmate?

To remove a block on your phone or open an account to receive incoming collect calls from inmates housed in the Monroe Detention and Leinberger Centers, call SBC at 1-877-650-4249.  Make sure you advise SBC that the account is under the Yolo County Jail.  SBC will not recognize the names of Monroe Detention Center or Leinberger Center. 

     

How do I bail someone out?

For bail information, including information on whether or not someone is incarcerated, please call the Records Department at (530) 668-5245.

4.   What information can I obtain about an incarcerated person?

If an individual is in custody, you can contact the Records Department at (530) 668-5245 to determine their next court date, their bail amount, and charges.

 

How do I obtain a copy of an accident report?

The California Highway Patrol normally handles accident reports.

How do I obtain a copy of my arrest report?

The Records Department does not give out copies of arrest reports. Contact the District Attorney’s office.

.  How do I obtain a copy of a crime report?

Crime reports for vandalism and burglary are available from the Records Department for a fee of $5.00 for the first 10 pages and 25 cents for each additional page thereafter, per copy.  Please allow at least 10 days from the date the report was taken before the report is available.  You may mail a written request with a check or money order made payable to the Yolo County Sheriff’s Department at 2420 E. Gibson Road, Woodland, Ca.  95776, Attention: Crime Desk.  Please allow 10 days from receipt of your request for processing.  Photos are generally not included in crime reports. For copies of crime reports that you yourself have filed, please call the Records Department at (530) 668-5245.

How do I obtain proof that I was once in custody at the Detention Center?

To obtain proof that you were once in custody at the Monroe Detention Center, please contact the Records Department at (530) 668-5245. A valid photo ID is required to obtain proof of custody.

How do I get to the Detention Center? 

If you are heading north bound on I-5, you will take the County Road 102 exit and turn left over the overpass.  At the second set of stoplights, you will turn right on to Gibson Rd. We are located on the left side of Gibson Rd., past the Juvenile Hall and Animal Shelter, before Ogden St.

If you are heading south bound on I-5, you will take the County Road 102 exit and turn right- do not go over the overpass.  At the second set of stoplights, you will turn right on to Gibson Rd. If you are heading east bound on I-80, you will take the Hwy 113 North-Woodland exit.  You will continue on Hwy 113 and take the Gibson Rd. exit.  Stay to your right- do not go over the overpass.  You will continue east on Gibson Rd. through two sets of stoplights.  Turn right in the driveway where you see a large cement sign that says “Yolo County Sheriff Coroner”.

If you are heading west bound on I-80, you will take the Hwy 113 North-Woodland exit.  You will continue on Hwy 113 and take the Gibson Rd. exit.  Stay to your right- do not go over the overpass.  You will continue east on Gibson Rd. through two sets of stoplights.  Turn right in the driveway where you see a large cement sign that says “Yolo County Sheriff Coroner”.

If you are heading north bound on I-5, you will take the Main St. exit and turn left at the stoplights.  You will continue heading west on Main St. for a few blocks until you reach Third St.  Turn right on Third St. and continue for one block.  The court house is on the corner of Court St. and Third St. 

If you are heading south bound on I-5, you will take the Hwy 113 South-Davis exit.  You will then take the Main St. exit and turn left at the stoplights.  You will continue heading west on Main St. for a few blocks until you reach Third St.  Turn right on Third St. and continue for one block.  The court house is on the corner of Court St. and Third St.

When will court information on in-custody inmates be available?

For court information on in custody inmates that have morning court, please note we will not have any information available until after 2pm.  For court information on in custody inmates that have afternoon court, we will not have any information available until after 7pm.

I need to pick up property for an inmate that was sentenced to the California Department of Corrections. How do I do this?

Inmate property pick up is Monday through Thursday, except for holidays, at the Monroe Detention Center.  Sign ups for property pick up is at 1:00 pm.  The property officer will start processing requests at 1:30 pm.  You must be 18yrs or older and provide a valid driver’s license or identification card.  Please be advised we do not hold any property for inmates that have been sent to State Prison.  All property is sent with inmates to State Prison.  If you are inquiring about property that was taken as evidence or safekeeping, please dial our Administration Building at (530) 668-5280.
